Enhancing Care for Holistic Well-Being, Both Inside and Out.
Dr. Marie Rosy TOUSSAINT is a Primary Care Physician with 45 years of experience. She is passionate about practicing medicine in the traditional way, where the physician gives undivided attention to the patient, truly listens to their concerns, and evaluates the whole individual when designing a care plan.
After graduating from medical school and completing her residency in Internal Medicine in her native Haiti, she came to the Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami to train in Hematology/Oncology. Two life-changing tragedies forced her to review her plans. To practice in the U.S., she became an American graduate by completing an additional residency in Internal Medicine.
Being educated in Haiti and having lived in South Florida, she can communicate with her patients in English, Spanish, her native French, and Creole. She has been in Highlands County for 20 years and has developed a personal bond with her patients. She remembers a motto hung in her office in Miami:
“People don’t know how much you know until they know how much you care”.
She also maintains a friendly work relationship with staff members. Her exposure to terminal diseases has helped her provide guidance and comfort to Hospice patients at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, where she also worked for a few years.
She is trained in Functional Medicine and has offered bio-identical hormone replacement therapy for several years. Nowadays, she incorporates this training into her everyday practice, guiding her patients toward natural approaches to enhance their well-being.
Over the last 15 years, she has also worked at the Highlands Wound Center as a wound care specialist, specializing in the treatment of non-healing wounds, diabetic ulcers, and vascular ulcers. Dr. Toussaint is now incorporating new technology into her practice, with several applications: strengthening core and pelvic floor muscles to improve balance, address urinary issues, and alleviate other consequences of a weak pelvis; and a novel approach to enhancing mental health.
Natasha Tolentino has been a dedicated Medical Assistant since 2016. She earned her high school diploma from Longwood High School in Middle Island, NY, and subsequently completed her medical assisting degree at Gwinnett College in Lilburn, GA, in 2015. Natasha is also a certified medical coder through AAPC.
Before joining Dr. Toussaint’s team, Natasha gained valuable experience at Tampa General Hospital for three years, working in the ENT department. She has also worked in various medical specialties, including gastroenterology, pulmonary, and internal medicine. Natasha moved to Sebring, Florida, to be closer to her family, where she currently resides with her children.
Passionate about helping others, Natasha enjoys meeting new people and is known for going the extra mile to support anyone in need. Outside of work, she loves reading, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
